LÄPPLE GROUP CELEBRATES ITS 100TH ANNIVERSARY

On 23 May 2019 during an official ceremony, LÄPPLE Group celebrated its 100th anniversary together with customers, partners and shareholders.

In total, more than 200 guests turned up to congratulate LÄPPLE and its employees on this special anniversary, including customers from the German automotive, toolmaking and mechanical engineering industry, long-standing partners and political representatives.

In addition to looking back at LÄPPLE’s 100 eventful years, the celebrations focused on changes in the years to come. Klemens Schmiederer, spokesman of the Executive Board of LÄPPLE AG, emphasises that it’s not just technical expertise but above all people who have shaped the company from the very start and continue to do so. “The guiding principle coined by our founder August Läpple is more relevant than ever before: If you don’t go forwards, you’re moving backwards. The path we have taken is leading to qualitative growth and added value. Opportunities are opening up for all business divisions, particularly as a result of e-mobility, light construction and digitalisation,” explains Schmiederer.

A diverse evening programme provided insights into LÄPPLE Group’s notable past, exciting present and ambitious future plans. The two Heilbronn politicians Thomas Strobl (Deputy Minister President and Minister of the Interior, Digitalisation and Migration of Baden-Württemberg) and Harry Mergel (Lord Mayor of Heilbronn) praised the company for its adaptability and regional ties from the outset.

An interesting panel discussion on the topic of “Partnerships in automotive manufacture and mechanical engineering through the ages – The role of medium-sized enterprises” then saw Albrecht Reimold, Member of the Executive Board for Production and Logistics at Porsche AG, Dr. Joachim Damasky, Managing Director for Technology and Environment at VDA, Matthias Peschke, Vice Chairman of the Management Board of Kreissparkasse Heilbronn and Klemens Schmiederer talk about the role played by the mid-tier as well as current changes in the supplier sector.

The band Power Percussion brought the evening to an impressive close, wowing guests with a powerful drum show on car body parts manufactured by LÄPPLE.
